my gabriel moreno art

WALT: create an image in the style of Gabriel Moreno
At the start of this term in Totara class for our art we had to make a portrait of ourselves in the style of Gabriel Moreno. In our art we had to include some  zentangle art, key features, bold outlines, light and dark areas and patterns.  After morning tea or lunch our teacher would read us a book and while he read we would do our Gabriel Moreno art.
How I made my art:
1: My teacher took a photo of me and I then had to get it from the printer.
2: Then I got a blank piece of paper and put them together and started tracing my face by a window.
3: After that I started drawings patters or zentangle patterns on my face and on the blank bits of the outside of my face.
4: Lastly I did black outlines with a pen and also coloured in some things black.
I liked doing Gabriel Moreno art because we could put any type of patterns that we wanted to put in but my least favourite part about this art is because it took a long time because I had to put in lots of small and big details. Have you ever done art like this before? If you have comment down below.

  2. Hi there, my name is Jake and I am a student in room 9 at Gisborne Intermediate School. I really like how you took a photo of yourself and turned it into a piece of art with lots of patterns and shapes. It made me think of a piece of indian ink art that I did in year 6. Have you thought about how well the viewer will be able to see the smaller details and I took me a while to find where you were in the picture. Next time you could have the picture taking up the whole width of your blog and have the write up beneath it. Also put a thicker outline on the yourself in the picture.
